Despite the decline, Germany still ranked third in global coffee consumption in 2023, trailing behind the United States. The United States led the ranking with 494,000 metric tons of coffee consumed. Following the United States, Germany and Japan secured the second and third spots, respectively, in this global consumption hierarchy.
