This marks a steady increase from 2019, when the country saw a 4.1% year-on-year rise in coffee demand. In the global ranking of coffee consumption for 2023, Senegal holds the 70th position. Armenia ranks just ahead, also with 11,000 metric tons. Leading the worldwide coffee consumption are the United States, Germany, and Japan, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
