Filipina coffee consumption is projected to reach approximately 329,000 metric tons by 2028, up from 311,000 metric tons in 2023, marking an average annual growth rate of 0.9%. Since 2019, the demand for coffee in the Philippines has increased by 0.8% each year. As of 2023, the Philippines ranks seventh globally in coffee consumption, with Italy surpassing it at 311,000 metric tons. The United States, Germany, and Japan hold the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. Conversely, Filipina coffee production is expected to decline sharply, reaching around 73,000 bags of 60 kg by 2028 from nearly 136,000 bags in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 10%. Since 1995, the country's coffee supply has been decreasing at a rate of 8% per year. In 2023, the Philippines ranked 30th in coffee production, just behind Burundi, which also produced about 136,000 bags. Vietnam, Colombia, and Indonesia occupy the second, third, and fourth positions in this ranking, respectively.
