Chilean demand for peppers is expected to remain unchanged over the next five years, with consumption of 1,000 metric tons in 2026. Since 2018, Chilean demand has been steady. Production of Chilean peppers is projected to increase to 64,420 metric tons by 2026, growing at a rate of 1.4% a year. Since 1966, Chilean supply has grown 11.9% annually. Chile ranks 41st in the world in 2021, with Sri Lanka overtaking Chile’s production of 59,410 metric tons. Mexico, Indonesia, and Spain are the second, third, and fourth-largest producers of peppers, respectively.
