Since 2017, the country's demand has grown at an average rate of 0.8% year-on-year. Indian peppers production is expected to increase to 92,630 metric tons by 2026, growing at a 1.5% year-on-year average since 1966. In 2021, India ranked 34th in the world, with Uzbekistan ahead at 84,820 metric tons. Mexico, Indonesia and Spain followed as the next three biggest producers.
