Jamaica is set to reach an estimated 20,810 metric tons of pepper production by 2026. This is a growth of 2% year-on-year since 1966. Thailand overtook Jamaica in 2021 with 18,480 metric tons, while Mexico, Indonesia and Spain respectively came in at numbers two, three and four in the rankings. Meanwhile, Jamaican pepper consumption totalled around 15,000 metric tons in 2018, with no significant change compared to 2017.
