Production is also rising. It's predicted to reach 89,000 metric tons by 2026, up 2.7% year on year. Since 1989, supply has increased by 5.2% annually. In 2021, Cameroon was the 36th largest pepper producer in the world and was overtaken by Cuba with 75,930 metric tons. Mexico, Indonesia, and Spain were the next three largest producers.
