In 2021, Austria was the 71st largest pepper producer, with Palestine overtaking it at 15,370 metric tons. Mexico, Indonesia and Spain took the second, third and fourth spots, respectively. In 2018, Austrian pepper consumption was 2,000 metric tons, compared to 2,000 in 2017.
