Maldivian Peppers trade peaked in 2020 with 4.9 Thousand Metric Tons of exports and 4.8 Thousand Metric Tons of imports. In 2021, exports decreased to 4.8 Thousand Metric Tons and imports decreased to 4.7 Thousand Metric Tons. Maldivian consumption of peppers is expected to remain steady at 1 thousand metric tons by 2026. This figure has remained stable since 2021. Production of peppers, however, is forecast to decline to 15.1 metric tons by 2026. This figure has dropped by 15.5% since 1966. Maldives came in 115th in 2021, while Fiji took the lead with 46 metric tons. Mexico, Indonesia and Spain ranked second, third and fourth respectively. Trade of peppers peaked in 2020 with 4.9 thousand metric tons of exports and 4.8 thousand metric tons of imports. These figures decreased to 4.8 and 4.7 thousand metric tons respectively in 2021.
