Since 1966, Syria has seen an average growth of 0.4% year-on-year in pepper production. In 2021, it was ranked 44th in the world, with Bulgaria overtaking it by producing 52,970 metric tons. Mexico, Indonesia and Spain occupied the top three positions in the ranking.
