Since 1997, Latvia's oilseeds supply has seen a significant annual increase of 12.9%. In the global rankings for 2023, Latvia held the 71st position, with Malawi slightly ahead, also producing around 162,000 metric tons. Leading the rankings were Brazil, Malaysia, and the United States, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots respectively. In terms of consumption, Latvia's oilseeds usage remained stable at 4,000 metric tons in both 2017 and 2018.
