This represents a modest annual decrease of 0.3%. Historically, the nation's oilseeds supply has seen a minor decline of 0.1% annually since 1966. In 2023, East Timor ranked 146th globally in oilseeds production, just behind Tonga, which also produced about 2,390 metric tons. Leading the global rankings were Brazil, Malaysia, and the United States, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions respectively. On the consumption front, East Timorese oilseeds usage held steady at 6,000 metric tons in both 2017 and 2018.
