Emirati oilseeds consumption is projected to decline slightly over the next five years, according to recent data. By 2028, consumption is expected to reach approximately 72,000 metric tons, down from about 73,000 metric tons in 2023. This represents an average annual decrease of 0.2%. Despite the projected decline, the demand for oilseeds in the UAE had been on a modest upward trajectory since 2019, increasing by an average of 0.8% year on year. In the global ranking for oilseeds consumption in 2023, the UAE held the 55th position. Saudi Arabia, with consumption also at around 73,000 metric tons, was just ahead. Leading the list were India, Indonesia, and Brazil, occupying the second, third, and fourth positions respectively.
