Uzbek tomato consumption is expected to drop slightly by 2022, decreasing from 2.2 million metric tons to 2.2 million. This decrease is due to a 0.2% annual reduction since 2017. In 2021, Uzbekistan placed 12th in global consumption rankings, while Ukraine was ahead with 2.2 million metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt were the top three, respectively. Meanwhile, Uzbek tomato production is estimated to rise 0.6% per year, reaching 2.3 million metric tons by 2026. This is in contrast to the 4.2% decline that the country has seen since 1997. Uzbekistan came in 14th place in the global rankings in 2021, with Ukraine taking the lead at 2.3 million metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt once again held the top three spots.
