Afghan tomato consumption dropped by 30.6% in 2021 to close to 25,000 metric tons. This is a stark contrast to the 192.4% growth the country saw between 2017 to 2020. It now ranks 110th in the world. Ethiopia came in just ahead of Afghanistan, with 25,000 metric tons. India, the U.S. and Egypt make up the top three in the ranking.
