Tomato consumption in the Bahamas is expected to remain steady through 2026, staying at 7,000 metric tons, according to a recent report. Since 2017, demand has increased by around 5 percent each year. In 2021, the Bahamas ranked 132nd in tomato consumption, slightly behind Gambia at 7,000 metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt were the top three countries in the ranking. Bahamian tomato production is also predicted to stay relatively unchanged through 2026, reaching 7,510 metric tons. Since 1966, production has risen by 0.5 percent each year. In 2021, the Bahamas ranked 129th in tomato production, just behind Bahrain at 7,090 metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt were again the top three countries in the ranking.
