Gambian demand for tomatoes is expected to grow by 2.4% year-on-year through 2026. This follows a period of no change since 2017. In 2021, Gambia was the 130th largest consumer of tomatoes, with 8 thousand metric tons of consumption. That was slightly behind Swaziland, which consumed 8 thousand metric tons in the same year. India, the US and Egypt ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th, respectively.
