Swedish tomato consumption is set to increase by around 3,000 metric tons by 2026. In 2021, Sweden was the 67th highest consumer of tomatoes, with 161,000 metric tons. Thailand was ahead, consuming 161,000 metric tons. India, the United States and Egypt were the top three consumers respectively. Swedish tomato production is also set to rise in the next five years, reaching almost 18,000 metric tons by 2026. Since 1966, production has grown by 3.4% annually. In 2021, Sweden was the 113th largest producer, behind Panama, which produced 17,280 metric tons. India, the United States and Egypt were the top three producers respectively.
