Dutch tomato consumption is expected to drop by about 150,000 metric tons by 2026. This marks a 0.4% decrease from 2021, and a 1% decrease from 2017. In 2021, the Netherlands was 68th in the ranking of tomato consumption, overtaken by Sweden at 157,000 metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively. Dutch tomato production is set to increase 1% by 2026, reaching almost one million metric tons. This marks a 0.8% increase since 1966. Poland recently overtook the Netherlands in 2021, with 938,370 metric tons of production. India, the United States, and Egypt ranked 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, respectively.
