Latvian tomato consumption is expected to remain steady, at 22,000 metric tons, through 2026. In 2021, Latvia ranked 115th in terms of consumption, just behind Cyprus. The top three countries were India, the United States, and Egypt. Latvian tomato production, however, is set to decline by an average of 2.1% each year through 2026. Since 1997, production has decreased by 4.5% annually. In 2021, Latvia was 132nd in the world in terms of production, just behind Togo. India, the United States and Egypt again led the rankings.
