Maldivian tomato consumption is expected to remain at 4,000 metric tons through 2026. Since 2017, the country has seen no change in demand. In 2021, Maldives was ranked 138th, with Lesotho ahead at 4,000 metric tons. India, the US and Egypt were ranked 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively. Production of tomatoes in Maldives is forecast to reach 473 metric tons by 2026, up from 384 metric tons in 2021, with an average growth rate of 3.5% a year. Since 2009, supply has grown by an average of 7.3% a year. In 2021, Maldives was ranked 154th, with Gabon overtaking at 384 metric tons. India, the US and Egypt remained in the top four rankings.
