Tomato consumption in Iran is projected to reach 6.1 million metric tons by 2026, growing at a yearly rate of 1%. This is a slight decrease from 2017, when it was down by 1% year-on-year. In 2021, the country was ranked fifth, behind Egypt, which consumed 5.75 million metric tons. India, the United States, and Egypt respectively were the top three countries in the ranking. Meanwhile, Iranian tomato production is estimated to drop 0.1% year-on-year to reach 5.09 million metric tons by 2026. This is a decrease of 2.6% since 1966. In 2021, Spain topped the ranking with 5.1 million metric tons, followed by India, the United States, and Egypt.
