Tomato consumption in Saudi Arabia is expected to reach 520,000 metric tons by 2026, up from 513,000 metric tons in 2021, according to a recent report. This marks an average annual growth rate of 0.3%. Since 2017, demand has increased by 0.5% each year. Cuba overtook Saudi Arabia with 513,000 metric tons in 2021 to come in at number 34, while India, the United States and Egypt were numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Meanwhile, production of tomatoes in Saudi Arabia is forecast to drop to 253,000 metric tons by 2026 from 294,690 metric tons in 2021, a drop of 2.6% each year on average. Since 1966, supply has decreased annually by 0.7%. Belarus came ahead of Saudi Arabia with 294,690 metric tons in 2021 to reach number 52, while India, the United States and Egypt were numbers 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
