Tomato consumption in Azerbaijan is set to increase over the next five years. In 2021, the country consumed 451 thousand metric tons of tomatoes, which is projected to rise to 458 thousand metric tons by 2026. This increase is slightly slower than the 1% year-on-year growth rate since 2017. Australia overtook Azerbaijan in 2021, coming in 38th place. India, the United States and Egypt followed suit, occupying the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively. Tomato production in Azerbaijan is also expected to grow, reaching 814,950 metric tons by 2026. Since 1997, Azerbaijani production has increased by 7.4% year-on-year. In 2021, the country was overtaken by France, coming in 27th place. India, the United States and Egypt followed suit, occupying the 2nd, 3rd and 4th positions respectively.
