Israel's tomato consumption is expected to reach 420,000 tons by 2026, a modest 0.1% rise from 2021. Since 2017, demand has dropped by the same rate. In 2021, Israel placed 39th in the world for consumption, narrowly behind Azerbaijan. India, the United States and Egypt hold the top three spots in the ranking. Israeli tomato production, however, is forecast to fall by 2.8% a year on average to 250,000 tons in 2026. This marks a drop of 5.3% annually since 1966. In 2021, Israel was 53rd in the world in production, slightly behind Saudi Arabia. India, the United States and Egypt are the top three in the ranking.
