Burundian imports of zinc rose significantly in 2018, jumping 33.4% to $9,030 compared to $6,770 in 2017. This marked a 6.5% decrease from 1998 levels. Burundian exports of zinc also saw a dramatic increase, rising by 424.2% to $173 in 2017 from $33 in 2016. Despite this surge, exports of zinc still remained 30.7% lower than 1998 levels.
