Nigerian import and export of zinc will continue to decline over the next few years. Nigerian imports of zinc are set to drop to $32 million by 2026 from $38 million in 2021, representing a decrease of 2.7% per year on average. Since 2001, demand for zinc in Nigeria has grown by an average of 2% each year. Meanwhile, exports of zinc fell to around $134 million in 2018, down from $850 million in 2017 and a decrease of 84.2% compared to the previous year. Since 2006, supply of zinc in Nigeria has decreased by 42.8% year on year. It is expected that imports and exports of zinc in Nigeria will continue to decline over the coming years.
