The Netherlands is set to become one of the world's leading exporters and importers of zinc by 2026. Exports of zinc from the Netherlands are projected to reach $1.3 billion by 2026, growing at an average rate of 2.2% each year since 2021. In 2021, the Netherlands was the sixth-largest exporter of zinc, with Spain overtaking the country with exports of $1.1 billion. Belgium, Canada and Australia followed, in that order. Meanwhile, imports of zinc into the Netherlands are projected to reach $1.2 billion by 2026, growing at an average rate of 2.9% per year since 2021. In 2021, the Netherlands was the fifth-largest importer of zinc, while Belgium had the highest imports with $982 million. The United States, Germany and Belgium followed in the ranking.
