Macedonia imports and exports of zinc will both increase in the coming years. By 2026, imports are expected to reach $14.9 million, growing at a 0.8% year-on-year average rate. Since 1999, demand for zinc has increased by 1% annually. In 2021, Macedonia was ranked 68th, behind Finland which recorded $14.2 million in imports. The United States, Germany and Belgium followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Zinc exports from Macedonia also saw a notable increase in 2019, totalling $129.5 million, up 26.5% from 2018. However, since 1999 the supply of zinc has decreased by 22.6% each year. In 2019, Macedonia was 87th in the rankings, behind Brunei which recorded $129.5 million in exports. Belgium, Canada and Australia took the second, third and fourth spots respectively.
