Nepalese imports of zinc are set to increase to $63 million by 2026, up from $53 million in 2021. This growth is expected to be 3% year on year, on average. Since 1999, Nepalese demand has grown by 7.1% each year. In 2021, Ethiopia was the highest importer of zinc at $53 million, while the United States, Germany, and Belgium came in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place respectively. Meanwhile, exports of zinc from Nepal are forecast to reach $225 million in 2026, a 3.2% year on year increase from $186 million in 2021. Since 1999, Nepalese supply has decreased by 4.1% each year. Ethiopia was the top exporter in 2021 at $186 million, while Belgium, Canada, and Australia were the next three highest exporters.
