Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran followed in second, third and fourth places respectively. Uruguayan urea imports are estimated to reach 297.41 million kilograms by 2026, up from 264.43 million kilograms in 2021—an average growth rate of 2% a year. Since 1999, Uruguayan demand has risen by 3.3% annually. The country was 31st in the ranking in 2021, with Greece ahead with 264.43 million kilograms. India, Brazil and Thailand were the next three in line.
