Zambian urea import is expected to reach 250 million kilograms by 2026, growing at an average of 1.9% per year. This demand has been steadily declining since 2000, with a 2.1% yearly average. In 2021, the country ranked 36th, with Ireland taking the lead at 218.9 million kilograms. India, Brazil and Thailand followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Zambian urea export decreased sharply in 2018, falling to 174,590 kilograms from 224,610 kilograms in 2017. This was a decrease of 22.3% year-on-year, and since 2000, Zambia has seen a 24% average yearly drop. In 2018, Bosnia and Herzegovina overtook the country in rankings, placing 75th. Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran ranked second, third and fourth, respectively.
