Romanian imports of urea are set to reach 420 million kilograms by 2026, a 3.6% year-on-year growth according to a CAGR. Since 2002, there has been a decrease of 5.9% year-on-year in Romanian demand. In 2021, the country placed 24th in the global ranking, with 339.3 million kilograms, behind Malaysia. India, Brazil and Thailand were second, third and fourth respectively. In 2018, Romanian exports of urea totalled 138.6 million kilograms, a 15.5% decrease compared to 2017. Since 1996, Romanian supply has decreased by 22.6% year-on-year. South Korea was the leader with 138.6 million kilograms, while Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran followed in the global ranking.
