Jordan’s urea imports are expected to dip to 12 million kilograms by 2026, down 1.7% on average year-on-year from 13.4 million kilograms in 2021. Since 1999, the country’s demand for the fertilizer has dropped 17.6% annually. In 2021, Burundi held the top spot at 13.4 million kilograms, followed by India, Brazil and Thailand. Meanwhile, Jordanian exports of urea plummeted to 25,890 kilograms in 2018, from 527,000 kilograms in 2017 – a decrease of 95.1%. Since 2005, the country’s supply has fallen 39.9% annually. In 2018, Argentina took the lead with 25,890 kilograms, followed by Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Iran.
