The Irish vessel fleet is projected to grow to approximately 12,590 units by 2028, up from around 12,400 units in 2023. This marks an average annual growth rate of 0.2%. Since 2002, however, Ireland's vessel supply has seen a slight decline, averaging a 0.3% decrease per year. In the 2023 rankings, Ireland held the 18th position, with Portugal narrowly ahead, also at 12,400 units. Leading the rankings were Italy, Denmark, and Croatia, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively.
