China, Italy and Germany were the second, third and fourth largest wool exporters respectively. New Zealand's wool imports are projected to fall 7.7 percent year-on-year to around $8.5 million by 2026. This would be a decrease from 2021's figure of $13.5 million. Since 1994, New Zealand's wool imports have fallen by 7.7 percent year-on-year. In 2021, Pakistan moved ahead of New Zealand to become the 54th-biggest wool importer, with imports of $13.5 million. Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom were the second, third and fourth largest wool importers respectively.
