Austrian wool imports and exports are set to remain largely unchanged over the next five years. In 2021, Austria ranked 28th in wool imports and 23rd in wool exports. Uruguay and Portugal respectively held the top positions. Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom occupied the top three spots in imports, while China, Italy and Germany did so in exports. Since 1999, imports of wool have grown by 8% year-on-year, while exports have increased by 4.5% annually. By 2026, imports are expected to reach around $68 million and exports around $78 million.
