Romania is set to become a major player in the global wool market. Export of wool is projected to reach $297 million by 2026, growing at a CAGR of 2.9% from 2021. Since 1994, supply has increased by 8.7% year on year, with the country ranking 10th in 2021. Mongolia was ahead with $250 million, while China, Italy and Germany were the top three countries in the ranking. Meanwhile, import of wool is forecasted to reach $429 million by 2026, with an average year on year growth rate of 1.2%. Since 1994, demand has surged by 3.5% year on year. Romania was sixth in 2021, with Japan edging ahead at $399 million. Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom were the top three countries in the ranking.
