Leading the rankings were Sweden, France, and Italy, occupying the second, third, and fourth spots, respectively. On the production side, British hydropower generation is forecasted to reach roughly 22,900 terajoules by 2028, growing from about 21,800 terajoules in 2023, also at an annual growth rate of 0.7%. Since 1995, the UK's hydropower supply has similarly risen by 2.2% per year. In 2023, the UK also placed 16th in terms of hydropower generation, with Ukraine again leading at 21,800 terajoules. Sweden, France, and Italy maintained their positions as the second, third, and fourth largest producers, respectively.
