Japan's propane imports are set to grow slightly over the next five years, reaching almost 10 billion kilograms by 2026. In 2021, Japan ranked third in the world with 94.2 million kilograms imported. The US was the largest importer with 94.4 million kilograms, while Mexico came fourth. Japan's propane exports, however, decreased sharply in 2019, dropping by 23.1% from 15.6 million kilograms in 2018. Over the past 27 years, Japan's exports have grown an average of 16.8% annually. In 2019, Finland was the largest exporter, followed by Canada, Algeria and Russia.
