The Netherlands' consumption of nuclear power is expected to stay the same through the period to 2026, at around 4 exajoules a year. This is a slight decrease of 1.1% since 1974. Generation of nuclear power in the Netherlands is also slated to remain unchanged through to 2026, at 3,600 gigawatt hours. This represents a decrease of 0.8% since 1979. In 2021, the country ranked 21st in terms of nuclear power generation, with Slovenia coming in first with 3,600 gigawatt hours. France, South Korea and Canada were the next three highest producers.
