Colombia's food waste treatment is expected to reach 13,680 thousand metric tons by 2026. This marks an increase of 1.4% year-on-year, following a 1.9% rise since 2010. In 2021, Colombia ranked 13th in the world, while Poland topped the rankings with 12,540 thousand metric tons. Germany, Japan and Mexico followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Food waste generated in Colombia is also set to rise, reaching 14,010 thousand metric tons by 2026. This growth is estimated to be 1.6% year-on-year, after a 2.2% increase since 2008. In 2021, Colombia was 12th in the rankings, with Poland again taking the lead with 12,680 thousand metric tons. China, Germany and Japan occupied second, third and fourth place respectively.
