Exports of herbicide from Ecuador decreased by more than 20% in 2021 compared to 2020, reaching 221,000 kilograms. This is the lowest level since 1996, when exports were 16% lower than they were in 2021. Cyprus came in first with 221,000 kilograms, while the United States, Belgium, and France came in second, third, and fourth respectively. Imports of herbicide to Ecuador are set to reach 17.2 million kilograms by 2026, with an average yearly increase of 1.6%. This is an increase of 3.1% since 1996. China led the way in 2021 with 15.6 million kilograms. Brazil, Nigeria, and the United States followed in second, third, and fourth place respectively.
