Consumption of herbicides in Romania is projected to drop 3.7% annually to 3,150 metric tons by 2026. This is compared to 3,990 metric tons in 2021, and a 4.7% decline from 2016. South Korea topped the 2021 ranking with 3,990 metric tons, followed by Argentina, Australia and Canada. Import of herbicides to Romania is expected to rise 2.6% annually to around 30 million kilograms by 2026. This is up from 25.3 million kilograms in 2021, and a 3.9% increase from 1996. Mexico led the 2021 rankings with 25.3 million kilograms, followed by Brazil, Nigeria and the United States. Export of herbicides from Romania is forecast to grow 3.4% annually to nearly 5.7 million kilograms by 2026. This is compared to 4.6 million kilograms in 2021, and an 8.3% increase from 1997. Japan came in first in 2021, with 4.6 million kilograms, followed by the United States, Belgium and France.
