Algeria’s herbicide imports are set to reach 10 million kilograms by 2026, a 2.5% year-on-year average increase from the 8.4 million kilograms imported in 2021. Since 1997, Algerian demand has grown by an average of 27.5% annually. In 2021, the country ranked 53rd, overtaken by Ethiopia, which imported 8.4 million kilograms. Brazil, Nigeria and the United States were the next three countries in the ranking respectively. In 2017, Algeria’s herbicide exports totalled 21,390 kilograms, a 9.9% increase from the 19,460 kilograms exported in 2016.
