In 2018, Ghanaian herbicide exports dropped by 87% compared to the previous year, to around 270,000 kilograms. Since 2002, exports of this product have increased 12.5% per year, but Ecuador overtook Ghana as the 58th largest supplier. The US, Belgium and France were the second, third and fourth largest exporters respectively. Meanwhile, imports of herbicides in Ghana rose 11.9% in 2018, reaching almost 57 million kilograms. Since 2001, demand for this product has grown 8.7% per year, with Russia leading the way. Brazil, Nigeria and the US were the second, third and fourth largest importers respectively.
