Consumption of herbicides in Finland is expected to reach around 900 metric tons by 2026, a 1.9% drop from 2021’s 1,020 metric tons. In the period from 2016 to 2021, Finnish herbicide consumption decreased by 4.2%. Lithuania topped the ranking in 2021 with 1,020 metric tons. Argentina, Australia and Canada followed in second, third and fourth place, respectively. Finnish herbicide imports are forecast to reach around 6.4 million kilograms by 2026, a 1.7% increase from 2021’s 5.7 million kilograms. From 1993 to 2021, Finnish demand for herbicides decreased by 0.2%. Lithuania led the ranking in 2021 with 5.7 million kilograms, with Brazil, Nigeria and the United States following in second, third and fourth place, respectively. In 2018, Finnish herbicide exports dropped by 76.4% from 8.4 thousand kilograms in 2017 to 1.98 thousand kilograms. From 1993 to 2018, Finnish supply of herbicides decreased by 0.3%. Malta was the leader in 2018 with 1.98 thousand kilograms, followed by the United States, Belgium and France, in that order.
