Omani herbicide imports fell by nearly half in 2021, according to data from the Global Trade Atlas. Imports of herbicides into the country dropped to 15,240 kilograms compared to 29,820 kilograms in 2020. This marks a decrease of 19.3% since 1994. Bermuda overtook Oman, becoming the top importer of herbicides with 15,240 kilograms. Brazil, Nigeria, and the United States followed in the rankings. Since 1994, Omani supply has declined by 38.4%, with imports falling to only 1,610 kilograms in 2018. The United States, Belgium, and France took the top three spots, with Mauritius overtaking Oman for fourth place on the list.
