Lebanese imports of herbicides are predicted to grow by an average annual rate of 1.2% to 2.3 million kilograms by 2026. This is up from 2.2 million kilograms in 2021, when the country ranked 82nd in the world. Switzerland overtook Lebanon in 2021, with 2.2 million kilograms imported. The United States, Brazil, and Nigeria followed in second, third and fourth place respectively. Since 2002, Lebanese imports of herbicides have fallen by an average of 46.6% each year. The country was 105th in 2018, with Macedonia overtaking it at 130 kilograms. The United States, Belgium and France held the second, third, and fourth positions respectively in 2018.
