In 2021, Italy came in second place with €99 billion, behind France with €99.03 billion. Germany, the UK and Italy were the three largest markets in this ranking. Meanwhile, gross written premiums for life insurance in Italy are expected to remain stable, at around $122.82 billion by 2026. Since 2015, the Italian market has decreased by 0.2% year-on-year. France came in first place in 2021 with $121.03 billion, followed by Japan, China and the UK.
